Brand Design
Brand Design is the fundamental creative work: translating a business's purpose, values, and personality into a visual and verbal identity people can recognise and connect with. Sabrtooth work on creating something both visually appealing and a brand that genuinely represents the business underneath it.
The Core Elements
Logo / Motif: the most visible, recognisable piece of a brand, but only one part of a much larger system, a logo alone isn't a brand identity. Colour Palette: colour carries genuine psychological and emotional weight, and a well-chosen palette, creates instant visual recognition. Typography: the typefaces used across headlines and body text shape tone as much as any image does, while legibility is of utmost importance. Imagery Style: the mood, composition, and type of images used across a brand, need to be consistent enough to represent the business. Tone of Voice: how a brand sounds in writing, formal or conversational, playful or authoritative, tone of voice engages with the target audience. Brand Guidelines
Brand Guidelines, sometimes called a brand book or style guide, are the rulebook that makes a brand identity usable by anyone beyond the original designer. Without them, even an excellent brand design degrades quickly, colours drift, logos get stretched and recoloured, and tone of voice becomes inconsistent as more people touch the brand over time.
Why Guidelines Are Non-Negotiable
Guidelines exist to protect consistency as a brand scales beyond a single founder or design team. Every new hire, freelancer, agency partner, or internal team member who touches the brand needs the same reference point, otherwise small deviations accumulate into genuine brand dilution over months and years. A well-built set of guidelines pays for itself many times over simply by preventing that slow drift.

Brand Marketing
Brand Marketing is where a designed, documented identity actually meets an audience, campaigns, content, advertising, and messaging built on the foundation the first two stages established. Marketing that ignores brand guidelines tends to produce output that technically promotes the business but doesn't actually build the brand behind it.
Connecting Brand to Marketing Strategy
Positioning: brand marketing starts by reinforcing where a business sits relative to competitors, premium or accessible, specialist or generalist, and every campaign should reinforce that position rather than contradict it. Consistent messaging across channels: the core value proposition and key messages should remain recognisably consistent whether someone encounters the brand on social media, in an email, or in a physical advert, even as the format and tone adapt to each platform. Audience alignment: effective brand marketing is built around a clearly understood audience, their needs, language, and the channels they actually use, rather than a generic broadcast approach. Campaign planning grounded in brand strategy: individual campaigns should be built to reinforce the broader brand position over time, a strong single campaign that contradicts the brand's established tone or values does more long-term harm than good. Brand Implementation
Brand Implementation is where a brand becomes real, actually rolled out across every physical and digital channel. It's frequently the most underestimated stage, treated as a simple final step rather than a genuine project requiring its own planning and oversight.
Where Implementation Happens
Digital Touchpoints: website, social media platforms, profiles and content, email signatures, digital advertising formats, internal marketing assets. Print & Physical Materials: business stationery, signage, packaging, vehicle livery, printed marketing collateral, each with its own production considerations. Merchandise & Branded Products: apparel, promotional items, and event materials, all requiring brand assets adapted correctly for different production methods. Internal Materials: presentation decks, and internal documents are a genuine part of how consistent a brand actually presents itself. If you want to talk about brand implementation, get in touch.
